Since 1997, the Academy has been promoting graduate standards for certification in economics and economics analysis.  Since our inception with the founding of the Graduate Institute of Leadership, the Academy has been focused on quality assurance with accredited education, exams, assessment, education, ethics, and continuing education.  Further, applicants must have the necessary experience in research and publications in the area of public policy and economic analysis.

According to available sources, the GAFM Board of Standards and its subsidiary, the Association of Certified Chartered Economists (ACCE), is the only globally respected and recognized body offering the trademarked ChE Chartered Economist ® (ChE) license and designation. The GAFM's Board of Standards is noted for its establishment in 1996, making it one of the most prominent organizations offering any finance, economics or banking  qualification, especially within the context of professional certification in economics.

While there are other  institutions, such as the Royal Economic Society (RES), which is influential in economics in the UK, the GAFM's ACCE is sanctioned by the Royal Economics Academy which has royal sponsors in Asia, Africa, and Europe and holds a significant position as the first to offer the ChE Chartered Economist  ®qualification and is recognized for its standards globally.

Thus, based on its recognition, history, and the quality of its certification programs, the GAFM ACCE is considered one of the most respected bodies in offering the an Economist qualification.
